Recently, we had the absolute pleasure of acting as the personal pet chauffeur for a wonderfully handsome dog named Franklin. His family needed a reliable travel solution not just for one way, but for a complete round trip from London to Calais, France, and back again. Here is how Franklin’s VIP journey unfolded.
The Outbound Journey from London to Calais
Leaving home for a trip across the border can sometimes make pets a little nervous, but Franklin was a natural traveler from the very start. We picked him up right from his front door in London, ensuring he had plenty of time to sniff around and get comfortable in our spacious, climate-controlled pet taxi.
For the English Channel crossing, we utilized the Eurotunnel (Le Shuttle). Because this route allows pets to stay safely inside the vehicle with zero separation, Franklin didn’t experience any of the stress associated with noisy ferry decks or dark cargo holds. He spent the quick 35-minute crossing relaxing on his plush bed. By the time we arrived in Calais, he was calm, happy, and ready to enjoy his time in France.
The Return Trip Back to London
A little while later, it was time for Franklin to head home. When his family contacted us to handle the return journey from Calais to London, we were thrilled to welcome our furry friend back on board!
Because Franklin already knew us and was familiar with the VIP comfort of our van, the trip back was even more relaxed. He settled in immediately for the drive. Once again, we breezed through the Eurotunnel, passing UK border control smoothly thanks to all his pet travel documents being perfectly in order. We dropped a very happy and sleepy Franklin right back at his London address.
